I am concerned about the mental health/wellbeing of someone I know

We’re here to offer support, letting us know concerns is perfectly normal

THINK
  •  Are they in immediate danger?  If they are in immediate danger or seriously injured, you can either contact the LSHTM security team on 0207 927 2555 if you are on site or the emergency services on 999 if you are offsite.
TALK
  • Listen – Just taking the time to listen actively to someone allowing them space and time to talk through their concerns. These six active listening tips might help you support them
  • Mental Health First aiders. First aiders are not trained professionals but they are trained to spot warning signs, to actively listen, reassure and help you respond to a crisis. They can also signpost you to LSHTM’s procedures, how to make a complaint and what support is available, in confidence.
REPORT
  • Report and Support. Students and staff can report any mental health/wellbeing concerns they have for themselves or others using the report and support system. You can choose to do this anonymously or you can report with contact details. If you choose to report with contact details, a member of staff will contact you to talk through options and support available to you.
